The Haven Support Team

The Haven is a hospitality center for the homeless population of Charlottesville.

The Haven is a hospitality center for individuals experiencing homeless in Charlottesville. CSSC at UVA supports The Haven by organizing in-person volunteers, fundraising, and spreading awareness about homelessness and housing inequality in our community through a weekly blog written by Jeannie Taylor, Mahima Reddy, and Kristen Adams. Through the generosity of UVA and Charlottesville community members, we have raised over $2,450 in monetary donations since our organization was founded in March of 2020. Our most recent fundraiser, in which CSSC volunteer Carley Whitt led a sushi making tutorial over zoom, was a huge success! We have also collected through our Amazon Wish List over $1,900 in in-kind donations, which consist of items like to-go boxes, clothing, cleaning products, and toiletries. All of these donations help The Haven operate as they serve Charlottesville during the pandemic and beyond.

To make a monetary donation, please Venmo @TheHavenCSSC or use the link to our GoFundMe below. To donate items that The Haven is in need of, please click the Amazon Wishlist link below to purchase specific products. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!

If you have questions about this project please don’t hesitate to contact project leaders, Aisha Naseem (an3jj@virginia.edu), Carley Whitt (ccw8sd@virginia.edu), and Jeannie Taylor (jet2tq@virginia.edu).
