UVA Hospital PPE Support Team
The UVA PPE Support Team was created to provide PPE (in the form of homemade non-surgical masks) to health professionals and thank individuals working on the front line of this pandemic.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has changed its guidelines for the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in medical settings due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Thus, UVA hospital staff have a drastically increased need for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as face masks. Our team’s mission is to help them fill this need by making homemade masks according to the guidelines provided to us by UVA hospital. Volunteers hand made over 30 masks during finals alone!
We are also recruiting community members to help with our mask masking effort. To make this easy, we have made amazon pages that allow you to quickly order the supplies for DIY masks, or to simply order pre-made masks to ship and donate directly to the UVA hospital! If you would like to donate pre-made masks or make your own masks to donate, please visit the links below!
All donations for the UVA Hospital can be sent to Maureen Oswald at Volunteer Services Box 800668, Charlottesville VA 22908.
