Resources for Practicing Mindfulness

Meditation is the practice of centering your thoughts on the present without judgement. Practicing meditation is a great way to learn how to calm your thoughts and deal with the chaos and stress of everyday life.


1. Headspace App - Free

  • Meditation app that teaches you how to breathe, meditate, and live mindfully. There are exercises on everything from managing anxiety to stress relief to breathing, happiness, calm, and focus.

  • Download the free Headspace app on your smart phone or head over to the website.

2. Calm App - Free 7 Day Trial

  • App for sleep, meditation, and relaxation

  • You have to provide a credit card to get started, but if you cancel before your free trial ends, you will never be charged.

3. Try out this guided meditation on Spotify.

4. Try out this guided meditation on Apple Music.

5. Check out this podcast called Ten Percent Happier in which Dan Harris breaks down the science behind meditation.



Yoga is not only great exercise, but can also complement mindful endeavors quite nicely. The following resources offer yoga that is great for all fitness levels! Try watching and following along! And don't be afraid to freestyle by doing poses of your own :)

  • Adrien's Youtube channel has 6.7M subscribers and offers an extremely wide variety of yoga and guided meditation videos that are great for all fitness levels and meditation experience.

Breath-work is an extremely valuable skill which can serve you in all kinds of stressful situations. Focusing on your breath allows you to be more aware of your body and can also help to quiet your thoughts. Check out the following resources on breath-work.

Exercise helps you build strong muscles and bones, maintain good cardiovascular health and a healthy body weight, and reduces your risk of developing chronic health conditions. However, exercise is also an important component of your mindfulness practice. Exercise promotes relaxation, brain health, memory, improves sleep quality, and promotes overall happiness. Check out the following resources (as well as the yoga resources above) for at-home exercises.
